Planting the future
About the project:
The instituto carnauba in partnership with agrocera, has began in 2021 a project named “plantando o futuro com carnaúba”, which aims to plant one thousand carnauba seeds per year. The project’s objective is to valorize the carnaùba supply chain, to restore the native flora, to preserve the species, to preserve the environment and to netralize carbon in the atmosphere. The carbon neutralization trough the planting of trees occurs due to the sequestration of the element in the atmosthere. The carbon is withdrawn from the environment and fixed in the plant biomass during the growthing period.
The project will be initially carried out in the ceara state and will contribute to other three states: rio grande do norte, piauí, and maranhão.
